Frequently Asked Dental Questions – Mt. Pleasant, WI

Answers That Help Your Smile

People call in and send us questions all the time, and we love it! In our experience, the more a person knows about taking care of their teeth, the healthier they usually are. Before you reach out to our team, be sure to read over the page below where we’ve answered some of our most popular questions. If you would like to know more about anything we haven’t covered here, be sure to give us a call—we’re always eager to talk to you!

When should I get a checkup and cleaning?

Our dentists, along with the American Dental Association, recommend that everyone should get at least two checkups and cleanings each year even if they aren’t experiencing any issues with their teeth. Many dental problems don’t have obvious symptoms initially, but if ignored, they can cause quite a bit of damage. By coming to see us on a regular basis, we can treat small issues quickly and help you better preserve your teeth over time.

Do you see children?

Yes, we’re happy to treat every member of your family, including the youngest ones! Here, you, your children, and even your parents can get everything you need all under one roof.

One of my teeth really hurts. What should I do?

Is there a piece of food debris stuck between your teeth? Removing it by flossing or rinsing may stop the pain. If not, then you may have a cavity or crack in the enamel, in which case you should give us a call right away. We can get you in quickly, figure out what is causing the pain, and make it go away before it becomes worse.

Do you accept emergency appointments?

Yes! If you or a loved one are experiencing a painful toothache or have just sustained a dental injury, go ahead and contact Sweet Smiles Family Dentistry. We’ll schedule you for an appointment as soon as possible so we can stop your pain and repair your smile.

Do I get a bridge, denture, or dental implants to replace my missing teeth?

The answer to this question depends on a lot of factors, such as how many teeth you are missing, where they are located, and your budget. Dental implants offer the best solution by far when it comes to both aesthetics and durability, but we can only give you a definitive answer after we’ve seen you for a consultation. No matter which option you choose, we’ll make sure your smile looks and feels brand new.

Will you take my dental insurance?

Most likely, yes. We’re happy to accept and maximize some of the most popular dental insurance plans available today, and you can learn more by visiting our insurance page here.

I don’t have dental insurance. Are there other ways to save on my dental care?

Yes! You can get low-to-no interest financing through CareCredit, or you can sign up for our in-office discount plan. With our plan, one low flat fee is all that’s needed to cover your basic dental services for the year and give you access to huge discounts on several others. You can learn more and sign up by giving us a call.
